Agneepath - if that was a legend, this is a legendary remake

On a bright sunday morning, waking up with silent ambiance all around and finally setting off to the plex with a terminus of viewing the cult remake of Mukul S Anand was an immensely silence breaking encounter covered by poignant, demoniac, racking screenplay for me mixed up with high-class drama attached by shades of breathtaking performances as well as horrifying looks of the honorable cast.
It has become a trend for the on going film culture in the tinsel town to pounce on the cult classics of yester years. There have been many remakes which worked well among the masses and even fell into the well. But, for me if i put my thumbs up and sabaash it, then undoubtedly it would be Agneepath.

Remaking a cinema that shadowed the characters among the movie-goers for two decades needs expertise, humble dedication and the risk of even losing it. Out here Karan Malhotra's impeccable perfection and profecient virtuosity requires a green thumb. It is only one such remake where dillemmatic judgment might arose stupefacting the viewers as to consider which one is the best. That's where the film turns out to be successful. The original without any premium of doubt is reserved to be a legendary creation. Similarly, one cant throw away the (Vijay Dinanath Chauhan)  Hrithik Roshan starrer out of the plate. It's a legendary remake in making.

As we all are quite accustomed to the basic facts and scriptures of Agneepath, so its unnecesaary to pen about its plot. Instead it will be apt to directly aim the bulls eye of the film i.e. Kancha Cheena.
After you watch the bald brain covered by the skin of Sanjay Dutt, you would feel like giving the character or more clearly the demon a no-watch. Its horrifying to its core, Destructible to its impulsion, Adamant to its attitude. The Kancha Cheena as played by the veteran Denzongpa was a shining demon from heart with a well white coated outlook giving a taste of luxurious, wealthy don of illegal activities. But, to our surprise Cheena played by Sanjay Dutt deserves no explanation and no word of appraisal. It just mummed the audience as one never saw this side of the actor i.e. if given to play a villain he can hit the ozone layer of perfection quite nearing the likes of Gabbar Singh, Mogambo, Shakaal. When i am asked about who was the best, the reply would be the bald headed Kancha Cheena who's look seemed to have been inspired from the look of Marlon Brando (Apocalypse Now).
Another evil character on the trot was Rauf Lala by Rishi Kapoor. It was an astounding, an unbelievable and an embezzled performance played by Mr.Kapoor. Never ever was such role played by the gem of the kapoor khandan. It will stay in everyone's memory for a long long time.

Vijay Dinanath Chauhan as portrayed by the all round prodigy Hrithihk Roshan is no less than the one by the National Awardee Amitabh Bachchan. Such was his performance that it would snatch you from your own world to the surroundings of Mandwa, to the slacks of Dongri, among the armageddon of evils. Roshan requires no point to prove to the world about his qualification, finesse and proficiency, insted he is climbing the stairs of bewilderment. Throughout the cinematic experience Duggu's character evolves and keeps on hitting the volcano of his potential. Watch out for the little Vijay played by Arish Bhiwandiwala.
Darsheel Safary, Kushal Chakraborty (Sonar Kella) was the last time i saw a child actor of standard potential to be a stone for the seniors. Now arrives Master Arish.

Agneepath also brings back those periods of cinema where enetratinment and happy ending was the soul of the film. Stabbing the hero of the movie 32 times (julius caesar) never resulted in death at that point of time, and the same wounded and dying hero would stand up erect with electrifying power and ending the villains existence in no minute finally dying. Karan Malhotra's superb directorial technique saves the fun from the fuss.
Very much watchable screenplay by Ila Dutta Bedi and Karan Malhotra keeping you at the edge of your seats making every point of the venture a momentous stand , a gentle touch of craftsmanship by the cinematographers Ravi K Chandran and Kiran Deohans brings life to the white screen.
Finally, se inclinan to the man behind every possibility.... Karan Johar.
What Yash Johar couldnt get back from this film will definitely hit the right chord of the box office.

what works for the film ?
ans- Chikni Chameli, Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Malhotra, Rishi Kapoor...

what not works for ?
ans- well, let Rajeev Masand decide :P ...

from my bag with a golden heart i put a 4/5...

dont miss the master remake..

Swami Vivekananda

on the 150th birth anniversary of "The Hindu monk" Swami Vivekananda i hereby type few lines as said by the immortal soul on earth who is considered as the youth icon still today. His teachings have invigorated many, made on learn to rise from failures, to overcome possible obstacles, focus on the goal, to be devoted to one's task and many more unmatched words of thought.
i hereby take a bow before this great men on this special day to keep his thoughts alive within the surrounding souls with few priceless words as said by him............

"A voice is coming unto us, gentle, firm and yet unmistakable in its utterances, and is gaining volume as days pass by, and behold, the sleeper is awakening ! Like a breeze from the Himalayas , it is bringing life into the almost dead bones and muscles, the lethargy is passing away, and only the blind cannot see, or the perverted will not see, that she is awakening, this motherland of ours, from her deep long sleep. None can resist her any more; never us she going to sleep any more; no outward powers can hold her back any more; for the infinite giant is rising to her feet.

Rig-Veda says, " Be thou all of one mind, be thou all of one thought". .... Being of one mind is the secret of the society. .... That is the secret - accumulation of will-power, co-ordination, bringing them all, as it were, into one focus.

My faith is the younger generation, the modern generation. Out of them will come my workers. They will work out the whole problem, like lions. I have formulated the idea and have given my life to it. If i do not achieve success, some better one will come after me to work it out, and i shall be content to struggle.
Let us all work hard, my brethren; this is no time to sleep. Do not figure out big plans at first, but beging slowly, feel your ground, and proceed. Up, up, the long night is passing, the day is approaching, the wave has risen, nothing will be able to resist its tidal fury.........."

Zindage Na Milegi Dobara........

Is life too consequential to let it indulge in all other priorities of life ??
Is life too far-reaching to let it sacrifice for all other priorites of life ??
Is life too noteworthy to let it divert into all other priorites of life ??

No one knows the answer to the former three lines until and unless u convince life to be within your soul and experience it.

Work, Money, Marriage changes the course of a humans journey along the highway of life !! I dont mean nor do i stand in a position to tell u all. This is what Excel Entertainment's not-to-late movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara narrates. This Zoya Akhtar directed venture throws a thespian, humourous and worth participating film at the fellow audiences that will drive you with the protagonists along a journey which is not supposed to take place in every one's life all the time. You heard about the halleys comet, right ?? which appears once in 75 years. Folks halley's comet is not the case with the journey which Arjun (Hrithik Roshan), Kabir (Abhay Deol) and Imran (Farhan Akhtar) took that was supposed to take into action 4 years back. A bachelor trip where carefree, careless, jovial, irksome,non-gratifying attitude reaches it culminations in one's life.

Kabir  is a businessman and wealthy son ofa much wealthier dad who plans to go on a trip with his best friends Arjun and Imran to Spain before he ties the knot with Natasha (Kalki Koechlin). The trip as being constructed by the three muskeeters incepts from Barcelona with none of them cognizant about what this trip will lead to. Each one of them plans a particular destination which all  have to accept and appreciate. This is the ultimate come into contact chance with the adventurous ride of their own choice for the threesome to be exhuberant about, to buoy with the effervescent spark of life.

We can take certain thoughts from this tale of love, friendship, adventure and one such moment is the vivaciousness produced by Arjun and Imran after they beat their fear by making it into the scuba-diving and sky-diving adventure dive and fly experience respectively. Arjun instils us that Fear is an inner feeling, it cannot be felt with a touch nor it can be rubbed off by running away from it. The only way one can overcome is by giving it a face to face clash.
On the other hand Imran inculcates in our mind that when you are in a dilemma about taking the next step just give it a go without raising your eyebrows or tell someone behind you viz. "PUSH ME".

ZNMD rides and drives all the way up the hills, down the lanes, higher than the crust, beneath the sea, floating in air and a cameo of a fatherly bonding with a son who never intended to meet. Farhan Akhtar is all the way a complete actor who in times will make u pat your thigh in laugh riot, ROFL and the same way will make u feel his emotions with his sentiments.
Suhc awe-inspiring and miraculous is the story that you will  feel like being within the happenings.

the X-Factor which is why ZNMD does wonders are the celebrated and striking perfromances of the cast. Hrithik keeps his situations to his abilities and gives a feel of natural occurence to his character and creates havoc with his superstar performance whereas Abhay's character being a guy in dilemaa was justified properly and Imran played by Farhan is the go-free guy who creates punches and cracks jokes without even giving a second thought to how the victim of his humour might take it.Katrina Kaif a.k.a Laila was equally good. A well decorated character and glowingly rubbed acting skills could be seen from her. She is a developing professional indeed. Kalki Koechlin came as the possessive would to be wife of Kabir who gets engaged to Abhay accidentally. Yah !! to tell you it was a terrible accident rather than an incident...... Watch the film and you will come to know why it is an accident !!!

Farhan Akhtar's background poetry triggers and catapults the emotion incorporated with drama of the film to an everest height and results in a superb scene of translucent feeling which will compel you to share those with the cast.

But,,,...yah..right...there is always an ifs and buts.....

The film is being compared by the masses with Dil Chahta Hai in various ways. To be true DCH is a step higher than this. The 2001 directed venture of Farhan Akhtar will always be in everyone's memories 'coz with adventure and friendship it had drama, love of different sight and bonding back together with loads of right to the x-axis ups and downs which is not the same with ZNMD. it accelarates as a journey and puts the break thus ending it with a bull ride. So, juxtaposing Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with Dil Chahta Hai is a waste of memory and logic. Both are good in own ways and definately a treasure for your computer drives.

If you are in hurry to get into an adventure trip, then it isnt a bad idea to rush to the theatres on a given day with less expenses. I enjoyed a lot. Paisa wasool for sure....

from my bag i can manage a 3.5 out of 5.....
